What is DBT?
A type of cognitive behavioral therapy that teaches you skills to:
- be mindful and live in the moment
- decrease stress and conflict in relationships
- communicate and interact effectively with others
- increase tolerance of overwhelming emotions and painful events
DBT is based on the idea that change occurs when working with the two opposite notions of acceptance and change. It is effective in Borderline Personality Disorder as well as a wide variety of mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety.
